GCSE Results 2020

The issues created by Ofqual surrounding the awarding of grades has made it difficult for schools to openly publicise and celebrate the achievements of their students but everyone at De La Salle would like to recognise the tremendous hard work and dedication of the students during such difficult times. Whilst they may not have sat their exams we feel the results that were awarded were a clear and accurate reflection of their commitment to their studies throughout Key Stage 4.

GCSE Results 2019

De La Salle in 2018-19 achieved yet another set of amazing GCSE results. Most subjects were now entering their second or third year of the new 9-1 grading system with 4 considered a standard pass and 5 a strong pass. Significant achievements have been seen in the core areas, with 37% of students achieving grade 9-5 in both English and maths, whilst 60% of students secured a standard pass in both subjects, which was the same as the previous year. Science excelled again with 71% of students gaining 2 sciences at a grade 9-4.

The school achieved an Attainment score of 44.4, a slight increase on the previous year and a Progress 8 score of +0.17.

Schools are also measured on the average point score for all students according to the grades they receive for Ebacc subjects and this year the school gained 4.06.

De La Salle surpassed the national average in a number of subjects including Maths, Science and Drama.

The percentage of leavers from the 2017 cohort staying in education or employment is 96%.
